This film is a parody on many of Alfred Hitchcock's thrillers such as "Vertigo" (the main theme), "Psycho", "The Birds" and "The Man Who Knew Too Much". Dr. Thorndyke teams up with Victoria Brisbane (Kahn) who was in search of her father Arthur Brisbane who had been held at the Institute for the Very, Very Nervous against his will along with many of the patients by Dr. Montague and Nurse Diesel who have also attempted plots on the life of Dr. Thorndyke. Like all of Mel Brooks films, this movie will make anyone roll on the floor in laughter from start to finish as a lot of the unexpected occurs throughout such as the rock with a note tied to it come smashing through Dr. Thorndyke's bathroom window from the violent ward at the institute while brushing his teeth or the filming crew doing silly things like breaking a window pane with the camera lens. One of the best parts was when Brooks and Kahn dress and act like an old Yiddish couple attempting to go through security screening with a loaded gun at San Francisco Airport, "I BEEPED! I BEEPED!" This movie is great for Mel Brooks fans and a film that is highly recommended. "High Anxiety, You Win!" ... Read more

This film also includes the legendary Mickey Rooney. The story of Pete's Drangon is pretty simple. Pete is a young orphan, who is running away from his abopted parents, and end up in Maine, a fishing town with his best friend, Elliott. Sometimes you can see him, and other times, you can't. A kind lighthouse keeper, Nora played by (Helen Rebby), and her father (Mickey Rooney), Elliott's pranks gets them into a whole lot of trouble. The music in this film is Ocar-nominated beautiful. Like "The Happist Home in These Hills," "It's Not Easy," "Candle on the Water," & "Brazzle Dazzle Day." A simply marvoulous soundtrack for the whole family. Now you must know, that Pete's Dragon was made in the late 70s, which was long before computer technology was invented. You know, like CGI grahpics and so forth. Which is another thing that impressive me, how Disney can create these images and actually make them work. Pete's Dragon is a wonderful story, that will be treasured for the next generation to come.

The basic story goes...there are these aliens that have come to earth to harvest a drug that is illegal in space as well. Human males produce this stuff at the height of extacsy, at which time the aliens (beautifully portrayed by three vixens one being JJ North) suck this stuff out of the men leaving them like raisins. Some funny moments in this movie but the detective's slapstick and stupid humour really made this movie stink. Michelle Bauer isn't the star I thought she was in this movie, but she does have an okay role as well. This is a campy teen T & A movie with a very annoying detective in it. ... Read more

The bulk of the film finds Jerry either in disguise or as himself, trying to stay one step ahead of the gang that wants to kill him, a different mob that wants to buy the smuggled diamonds from him, an Oriental outfit that wants the diamonds to finance their fake pearl business, and the hotel staff who want to throw him out. Especially noteworthy is the hilarious, over-the-top performance of Charlie Callas as one of the gang members. The big mouth in the title of the movie is an ironic reference to Jerry's failed attempts to convince anybody that his outrageous tale is true, that it's just a case of mistaken identity, and that he really doesn't know where the diamonds are. The climax of the film takes place at SeaWorld on Mission Bay, including a scene where Jerry is disguised as a Kabuki dancer! All the movie's characters corner him on the roof of a theater, but Susan Bay manages to arrive with a helicopter to rescue Jerry at the last minute. This film is one of Jerry's funniest, with nonstop action, many plot twists and turns, outrageous antics, and great on location scenery.
