Soccer Dog
Ok, when i first got this movie, i thought it was just going to be like "Air Bud". Was i ever wrong-
The movie starts off with us meeting James Marshall's character, who we find out was living in an orphanage. When he turned 18, he left and met his wife, Olivia d'Abo. They move to a town called Crocker, which eats, sleeps, and breathes soccer. Everythings find and dandy until they decide they want to adopt a boy.
Enter Clay(Jeremey Foley). Clay really can't connect with his new parents because they're pushing him to do too many things and all he wants to do is fit in. But when he finds a dog, Lincoln, and they let him keep it, things start to look better.
Clay goes to soccer practice and we all find out that he definetly needs some help with his soccer skills.
Then one day at a game, a boy gets "sick" and can't play, so the team's one man short. But what do you know, Lincoln can play soccer! So the team continues playing with Lincoln as the star.
I'm not even going to mention one of the player's ganster dad, who fixes the games, or the highly mental dogcatcher after Lincoln the whole movie, or the phsyco boy from the rival soccer team who is out to get Clay and Lincoln, or Vince, Clays best friend because even without all of these actors the movie is still great. Its more than soccer, it's really about a family coming through different obstacles to become closer and friends always being there for you, no matter what.
So next time you feel a little bored, pop in Soccer Dog for quite a few laughs, and maybe even a little bit of tears.

Good movie for all ages!
James Marshall and Olivia D'Abo do a great job of acting while the really awesome dog rocks, too! The story goes like this, a boy who doesn't know exactly how to play soccer when his demanding dad wants him to be a soccer star...they need to call in the cool little SOCCER DOG! There are many movies like this, for instance Air Bud which goes a step further than this, but Soccer Dog definitely makes the grade!

SIMPLY AMAZING!!!
I have seen all of the movies in the animal/sports genre and this is by far THE BEST!! The way this movie so expertly brings together such a vast array of story lines is superb. The character development in this movie brings to mind other big screen epics such as Braveheart, Wizard of Oz, and The North Shore. I look forward to any and all future movies from this highly imaginative and talented story-teller. Bravo, Mr. Forman, Bravo!

Red carded
We have two young boys who love soccer, so this movie seemed like a natural. Wrong. The acting and character development are just plain odd, and to top it off there's a very dark subplot about a mafioso who "fixes" pee wee soccer games. He actually poisons a kid at one point. The "dog playing soccer" scenes are very poorly done compared to Air Bud. Skip it.

ONE OF THE BEST COMEDIES EVER
Definitely one of the most underrated films, "Houseguest" is laugh out loud funny! Sinbad is utterly hilarious and works harmoniously with Phil Hartman.

It's about a man named Kevin Franklin (Sinbad), who owes money to a couple of loansharks. After threatening to kill Derek, he runs to an airport desperately trying to find a way to make it out of their alive, and happens to hear Gary Phil Hartman describing to his kids what his long-lost friend Derek Bond looks like, as they stand there waiting for him. Conveniently, Kevin happens to fit the description perfectly, and jumps up, taking on Derek Bond's identity.

One of my favorite things about Sinbad comedy is that he is able to be extremely funny without being provocative. He doesn't rely in sex to sell, which is quite different from most comedians these days.

If you read the back of the movie, you may think, "Wow, this sounds like it has a lot of potential to be funny. But does it?" And to sum it up in one word: YES! Not too slap-stick, not to talky, just perfect. Give it a shot!

HILARIOUS!
In "Houseguest," Kevin Franklin (Sinbad) stars as a houseguest that wasn't supposed to be a houseguest. Kevin is in trouble with a few people and they threaten to kill him if he doesn't give them $50,000 the next day. Kevin ends up pretending to be a long lost friend of Gary (Phil Hartman) and his family. Kevin is going to be a houseguest for awhile just so he can stay away from the madmen that he's in trouble with. But to be the family's houseguest, he has to pretend to be the REAL long lost friend of Gary, and also pretend to be what Gary's real friend is known for, for being one of the best dentists there are.

I don't see why "Houseguest" isn't a lot more popular than it is, it's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen without a doubt, and I've seen a lot of great comedy movies. Sinbad provides most of the laughs with his crazy antics. I couldn't quit laughing at the part when Sinbad washes his hands with novacaine and he finds out that his hands are real numb while he's pretending to be a dentist. But that's far from being the only hilarious part of the movie. "Houseguest" is hilarious all the way from when he first becomes the houseguest at the beginning of the movie all the way to the song that talks about food in the credits after the movie.

I recommend "Houseguest" to anybody who likes hilarious movies. Whether you like Sinbad or not, you should be able to enjoy this movie a lot.

"I wish I had some Dairy Queen!"
This movie is irresistable! One of the funniest movies ever! Kevin Franklin(Sinbad)is a person who always wanted to be a millionaire, but he ends up owing 50 grand to the mob and he is about to be killed! So he poses as a businessmans(Phil Hartman) "oldest friend" and the laughs begin. One example is : Phil Hartman starts singing the song,"Good Night Irene" and then he points to Sinbad to sing and Sinbad says,"I wish i had some dairy queen!"

for anyone wondering about technical/bonus features on this dvd. there are no bonus features. however, it is in widescreen, not full(16x9). as buena vista(disney)seems to like witholding this kind of info about their releases, it may help you make your purchasing decision.

Sinbad and the late Phil Hartman team up for this comedy about mistaken identity. I like the theme of mistaken identity, because it almost always leads to something funny and can be stretched through the entire length of a book or a movie.

The acting was pretty good. There are several scenes in the movie in which Hartman's character is having a row with his wife--and that I could not watch without a heightened sense of realism and an almost grotesque and somewhat sickening dark feeling, in light of what would happen to Phil Hartman in real life not long after the movie was released.

Anyway, Sinbad and Hartman made the movie fun. And I certainly enjoyed the fast pace. The Italian gangsters the movie portrays may appear flat, stereotypical, and silly, but that's not necessarily a bad thing in the context of the whole movie. The gangsters are a prop, a background, they were not meant to be these grand characters. They are simply there so that Sinbad could run away from were he was and end up in Hartman's family. It is a comedy, after all, and it calls for comical characters, not grand characters; for exaggeration and misunderstanding, not for hard core realism and clarity.

When is the DVD going to be released?
I saw this great offbeat film on cable, having never heard of it before, and was really taken by it within minutes of it coming on. All the characters are original, memorable, and deftly portrayed, but I particularly enjoyed Taj Mahal as the night shift DJ. The cinematography was striking, the script compelling, and the editing inspired. This REALLY needs to be released on DVD.

When's the DVD coming?
I saw this when it came out in 1999 and I liked it a lot. My friend saw it first and recommended it to me. I was thinking about it for a while and decided to check it out again. I also wanted to add it to my DVD collection but saw it doesn't exist yet! Anyway, I was really into "Outside Ozona" and this movie had good character development. I like movies where there are different people that don't really have anything to do with one another, yet fate brings them together at the end, when their lives cross. It's very interesting. A definite must see.

Rewarding Indie With an All-Star Cast
'Outside Ozona', an off-beat dark comedy/thriller directed by J.S. Cardone, is a little gem, brightened by a cast of established Hollywood actors. The story involves a serial killer (David Paymer, cast against type), pursued by agent Lucy Webb (in a role reminiscent of Frances McDormand, in 'Fargo'), but it is really a character study of a group of people whose lives will be changed forever by the killer, during one eventful night.

Standouts in the large cast include Taj Mahal, as a burned-out deejay at a country music station, who switches the playlist to rhythm and blues, and ruminates about life; Robert Forster, portraying a good-hearted trucker dealing with loneliness following the death of his wife; Kevin Pollack and Penelope Ann Miller (who is EXCELLENT!), as an unemployed circus clown and his dancer/hooker girlfriend; and Sherilyn Fenn (cast WAY against type!), as a shrewish, materialistic woman travelling with her sister to visit their father. As each character's story unfolds, you are drawn into a rich, involving tale of humor, melancholy, and a touch of the macabre!

The film is very well-paced, and will hold your attention, throughout, and the explosive climax is both exciting and emotionally satisfying!

Take a drive down the highway 'Outside Ozona'...you'll enjoy the trip!

fascinating and interesting film!
This movie was good...Im not sure what it was intended to be...a drama...a suspense thriller...but the overall result was a fasinating and captivating film about a search for a serial killer and the people who are somehow connected to his being caught....the film follows a number of people and tells their story, and the un is in finding out how these people will get together at the end....my only complaint was that the ending came too fast and wasn't as intense as it could have been....overall though, this was an enjoyable....drama? thriller?

OUTSTANDING CINEMATOGRAPHY- KEPT MY ATTENTION
This movie was sooooo cool! I just watched it about an hour ago and I had to run upstairs to my computer to see if it was available online. The cinematography was great--to be able to make a movie that takes place 99% at night AND MAKE IT WORK! this is a feat in itself. The characters were believable enough, although I had a slight problem with how stereotypical they seemed--black blues jock, yuppie materialistic sister from uptown Chicago, truck stop employees ect.. The soundtrack was one of the best features of the movie along with the cinematography.I would like to see it available in some form--even 8 track tape! Average B movie
Not much to say about this movie, It is a b movie, not the worst and not the best. I guess fans of Mia Sara would get to enjoy her a bit. Anybody else just look for something else.

Very good B movie
Okay, you know when you pick it up it's not Casablanca or The Searchers. But if you're looking for plotless violence and sex, this might fit the bill. Lots of B movie stock actors make this a fun film.

one of Perry's best
Perry delivers a good and solid performance as a PI who has bad luck and drinks hard. along the way he investigates for a divorce proceeding that leads to a dangerous affair with the wife of a rich client. powerful in the sense. the highlight is at the end where Perry comes to Adam Baldwin's house, with a stick and just rams it into his gut and starts whaling on him with it, it was awesome. Gloria Reuben of E.R. fame also stars. a great view

can you figure out this mystery before the end?
excelllent murder-mystery about a man (perry) who is looking into a murder . Rueben and baldwin have supporting roles!It is also a little on the erotic side in the plot of the movie!!

A real good who done-it
I started out not wanting to even watch this one. I have never been a fan of Luke Perry. When Judye (my wife), brought this home, I made the usual sigh of resignation, and sat down to be bored.

I was surprised by the acting ability of Perry,(Beverly Hills 90210) and his co-star Gloria Reuben (ER). This film keeps you guessing, it is a good who done-it with a twist. Perry plays private investigator Michael Nash, who is hired by a wealthy lawyer to prove that his wife is cheating on him. After weeks of following her every move, Nash is no closer in proving her unfaithfulness.

Eve (Gloria Reuben), plays her role as first shy, and then as sultry vixen perfectly. Murder and deception is the key mode of this film, and keeps you guessing until the last moment who murdered who.

I thought that is was great. Very suppensful
This movie has got it all. Great actors, great story line, and a great cliffhanger. Must see.

Great!
I have a really rambunctious, 5-year old brother and he is always running around and getting into trouble! We rented The 3 Ninjas and he actually sat down and watched the whole movie! He especially likes Tum Tum!

The greatest movie, Just like Hogan, the greatest!
This movie features Hollywood Hogan, Hulk Hogan, in the roll of a after-school TV show action hero who's show was cancelled due to the kids of the 90's not believing in heroes anymore. Hogan and the 3 Ninja's go against a money and power hngry woman who buys Ninja's and fighters of her own to fight her battles and like in life and in wrestling, Hogan, who plays "Dick Dragon", had the task of proving himself as a hero and does so.

10 dollar budget + washed up stars = 3 ninjas!
A friend of mine caught the end of this movie on cinemax, then he waited until the next time it was on, and taped it. When he brought it to my house I was shocked and apalled. The acting is horrible, the fight scenes are disgusting, and the children are flat out annoying, not to mention Colt, who has a mullet and nostrils the size of dump truck tires. I started watching the movie at the part where multiple "ninjas" in funny black costumes attack the children. One of the 3 kids jumps about 12 feet onto the roof of a building, the ninja he is fighting appearently intentionally falls off after he gets hit. Tum tum the youngest one is always kicking these 6 foot tall men in the face, but they never show him do it, just a leg probably on a stick. The movie is chock full of "Ball" jokes, every ninja that Tum tum ever fights gets kicked in the privates, ha ha? What about the time a ninja gets knocked onto a railing, and is sliding down it butt first. Naturally another ninja ends up keeping his chin right on the railing, for some wierd reason, and gets hit in the face by a butt. How about when the lady shoots out all the lights and sends ninjas after the three children, they are swinging in the dark, one falls off the scaffolding, is holding on by a hand, it's dark right? Well to summon up courage in the ninja the other one shows him a picture of their grandmaster guy, I thought it was just dark? This movie is ... horrible ..., watch it and write everything that is wrong with it, what was the director thinking?

The Sixth Man
The Sixth Man was great, it is my favorite movie! It was so funny and I love basketball, so it was twice as good. Marlon Wayans was really good in this movie.

The first time I saw The 6th Man was about 5 or 6 years ago. I remember laughing so hard and also crying so hard. Its a remarkable story about 2 brothers, one of which is dead. This is one of my favorite movies and in my opinion, one of the best movies of all time. Also, the soundtrack to this movie is awesome!

Great!

Average B movie
