The chief reason for viewing What a Woman! is the ravishing, pneumatic, young, (blonde!) Sophia Loren. The living embodiment of Italian cheesecake, she's a veritable force of nature, leveling any man in her path.These include such legendary lady-killers of the cinema as Marcello Mastroianni (quite young and adorable here himself), and that epitome of Gallic charm, Charles Boyer. The plot, such as it is, kicks in when paparazzo Mastroianni snaps a revealing candid shot of humble shop girl Loren on the Appian Way.The photo's appearance on a magazine cover causes a sensation, and Loren is on her way. Mastroianni takes Loren on as his protégé, then seduces and abandons her. She spends the rest of the movie getting back at him, driving him wild with jealousy as she climbs the food chain of men who can make her a star. In the end, she's reduced to throwing rocks at him and screaming, "Tell me you love me or I'll break your head!" fine Britt-Lollobrigida vehicle
May Britt and Gina Lollobrigida star in the Italian comedy-drama THE UNFAITHFULS, a fine film interweaving several subplots.

Britt turns in one of the best performances in her erratic career, while Lollobrigida is good in her small role as an unhappy wife.

Also featuring Pierre Cressoy, Irene Papas, Anna-Marie Ferrero and Marina Vlady, THE UNFAITHFULS is expertly directed by Mario Steno.
